For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. Psalms 95:3
I met a King when I was young. He called to me and brought me into His home. Despite how dirty I was, He let me stay with His family and gave me a place to belong. He cleaned me up and showed me how to return to His home. He knows just how to make me smile and everything He's ever promised me, He's been able to deliver.
For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.
I've never been perfect, but that was okay with Him. He completes me and I'm made perfect in Him. And one of the sweetest things about Him is how He smiles when I sing to Him, when I pour out my worship and give Him what's left of my heart. I know He deserves more than what I have to give, but I make Him happy and that's what keeps me near His side. Not because of my love for Him, but because of His love for me. It's my joy to bring Him praise.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
He asked if I would like to become part of His eternal family and of course I said yes. Then He told me I was promised to His Son, a Beautiful Prince named Jesus. He rides a horse and charges into battle unafraid. I haven't met Him face-to-face yet, because my King is still preparing me to become a bride. He's giving me a new name and a new heart - one that will match my Prince's.
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful. Revelation 17:14
Sometimes I wander and get too far away from my King, despite my best intentions and greatest mistakes. But He's never angry or surprised when I return. He smiles and asks me how I've been. He brings me into His home, cleans me up again, and feeds me with His Word. I know there's nothing I can do to change His love for me. It's unwavering, everlasting. I can't explain why His children make Him so happy, but I know that they do. I know we're the apple of His eye and He finds great joy in each of us. Don't let another day slip by before you ask this King into your heart. Everything He has to offer is greater than any reward life can provide.
But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
Father, I ask You to come into my heart today. I know You love me and I want to love You, too. I believe that You gave Your Son on the cross as a sacrifice. I confess my sin before You and I ask for mercy in return. From this day forward, I will seek Your grace and study Your Word. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and lead me in Your will. Draw me near with each breath I take. I acknowledge that Jesus is Savior of mankind and it's in His name I pray. Amen.
